Since 2016 sales of CBD oil (or cannabidiol) have been growing and 2018 was an explosive year. There has been a huge amount of media publicity in addition substantial word-of-mouth among consumers. For the uninitiated, CBD is one of over 100 cannabinoids present in both hemp and marijuana. Unlike THC, the most well-known cannabinoid, CBD does not produce s high. There are no psychoactive effects from CBD. The reason for all the buzz is for the compound’s touted potential benefits as a health supplement for things like pain, inflammation, anxiety and other issues. While most of the health claims are unproven as of yet and actual peer-reviewed studies and research needed to prove or disprove the many claims about the compound, consumers have none-the-less embraced CBD in a big way.
CBD is primarily available as a concentrated oil extract derived mostly from industrial hemp as well as in pill form.
2018 was an explosive year for CBD and the substance became available in additional forms such as CBD-infused beverages, lotions for pain, CBD skincare products and more. And it is becoming clear that in the future a new form of CBD is getting set to explode and that new form is CBD Gummies. But the major players in CBD are not in yet and consumers should wait until they are.
Last year, in 2018 it was reported that the term ‘CBD gummies’ was the third most popular search term on Google. That is incredible! However, as stated earlier the major trusted players in the CBD niche market such as CBDPure, Charlotte’s Web CBD, Bluebird Botanicals and a small handful of others do not yet offer a CBD gummies product. Some of the smaller lesser-known companies do, but we would rather wait for some of the more established to come to market with their CBD edibles before doing any reviews.
2019 and beyond promises to be another big year for CBD and the scuttlebutt is that there could be exciting edible offerings from some of the better-established CBD companies. We are hoping to soon to see products like CBDPure Gummies, Charlotte’s Web Hemp Extract Gummies, Bluebird Botanicals Hemp CBD Gummies and maybe a few more. That’s what we hope to see in 2019 or 2020.
In the meantime, the best bet for CBD consumers is probably to stick with a quality CBD Oil or CBD Softgel product from established and trusted CBD companies.
