The ‘Rare Cannabinoid Company’ was started by the folks who own the Hawaiian CBD company called Hawaiian Choice. Their products sell online and in many stores throughout the US and beyond.
Recently, the company expanded in the field of so-called ‘rare cannabinoids’ with a new company called The Rare Cannabinoid Company. Rare cannabinoids have been getting a lot of attention lately specifically for the particular cannabinoid called ‘Delta-8-THC’.
A little background first. The compound in marijuana that produces a psychoactive effect is ‘Delta-9-THC’. The rare cannabinoid ‘Delta-8-THC’ also produces a psychoactive response albeit to a lesser degree than Delta-9.

Unlike Delta-9-THC, ‘Delta-8-THC’ comes from hemp. The operating theory from many proponents is that since Delta-8-THC comes from hemp it is legal, just like CBD. However, this point of view is controversial and disputed by many. Remember, Delta-8-THC will get you high. A number of companies are currently selling Delta-8-THC so we will see where any possible legal challenges resolve these growing controversies.
Delta-8-THC
So, beyond the immensely popular cannabinoid CBD from hemp we now have a growing list of these so-called rare cannabinoids that are attracted increased consumer interest as well as interest from researchers looking at any potential therapeutic benefits from these compounds. We are referring to cannabinoids such as CBN (cannabinol), CBC (cannabichromene), CBG (cannabigerol), and THCV (tetrahydracannavarin), as well as the aforementioned Delta-8-THC
Research into these rare cannabinoids is just getting started. While CBD is found in substantial quantities in both hemp and marijuana (and while Delta-8-THC is found large quantities in hemp) the rare cannabinoids only amount to between 0.01% to 10% of the overall mass of the plants so they are not inexpensive. Then again, neither is pure, authentic CBD
The Rare Cannabinoid Company has a number of interesting products in the rare cannabinoid niche.
