Good products but not our first choice…

NOTE: We’re looking at the VitaCBD tincture products only for this review. VitaCBD looks like a pretty good product. There is a lot to like about this CBD oil product but a few things we are not happy about that give us pause. The product has unnecessary ingredients that we don’t like. Specifically we are disappointed to see that the base oils used are ‘grape seed oil’ and ‘hemp seed oil.’ We would prefer that olive oil was used. We may be in the minority on this opinion at this point in time but more and more people are avoiding all oils (generically called ‘vegetable’ oils) with the exception of olive oil and coconut oil. A good resource on this subject is the Nina Teicholtz book ‘The Big Fat Surprise’ (see chapter 9) or do a search for ‘vegetable oil dangers’ on your favorite search engine or YouTube. There is a growing controversy over whether the various so-called ‘vegetable oils’ are really healthy. Some think they are extremely unhealthy. If this is not an issue for you, everything else about this company seems good. We have a blog post on the issue of vegetable oils here avoid vegetable oils
Otherwise, if that isn’t an issue for you, VitaCBD looks like a pretty good product.
POSITIVES
1) Organic
2) 3rd Party Lab Tested CBD oil
3) Made using the preferred low heat CO2 extraction process
NEGATIVES
UNNECESSARY INGREDIENTS: The tincture product includes some ingredients we don’t like such as ‘grape seed oil’ and ‘hemp SEED oil.’
INADEQUATE RETURN POLICY: It’s good that they have a return for refund policy BUT customers only have 5 days to return the item and the item must be ‘unopened’ and ‘unused’ so in our opinion that is a disingenuous customer satisfaction policy.
